Red Snapper, KingFish, and 45-60 mph Squall With Seas To 10ft! - E6
Fishing on structure about 40 miles offshore in 130 ft of water. Catching nice size Red Snapper, Kingfish, Jack Crevalle, Remora, and some of the largest Bluerunners we've seen, they must have been close to 2 pounders! An inshore weather system moves into the Gulf and quickly organizes turning into a nasty squall, that cuts our trip short. With no way around the squall we make our way through with winds 45 to 60 mph and seas up to 10 feet. Continuous DSC, EPIRBs, and distress calls going out to the Coast Guard over the radio, but did not see any other boaters along our way. Definitely a trip to remember!
